Our Story
When Carol visited India in 2016, she witnessed the plight of the families living in the rural
parts of the nation. She was concerned with the everyday struggle for procuring clean water
and the lack of basic sanitation facilities.
She learned that roughly 163 million individuals in
India lack access to safe drinking water (according to WaterAid’s The Water Gap: State of
Water 2018 report) and wanted to help make a difference. Carol, along with Jorawar, her
long-time friend in India, were inspired to start Bright Pines Foundation.
